The tension of your foundation chain is too loose. If you practise making a chain of 24 a few times, trying to make it tighter, you should start to get closer in measurement to 13cm. It is very common as a beginner to struggle with getting the tension right and it needs lots of hard work but it is really worth it in the end!

We give online stockists for the yarn used in each project in a box (usually found on Questions & answers, page 2) in every issue. It is more difficult for us to give reliable advice on stockists in specific areas but it is worth popping into your local yarn/craft/haberdashery shop with a list of yarns you need and asking what they have in stock and if they can suggest decent alternatives.

The yarn is sourced by THE ART OF CROCHET just for the throw and is not available for sale elsewhere. We also created the colour palette when designing the throw and so it is not similar to anything on the market. Every issue comes with more yarn than is needed for each square so you should build up quite a stock over the course of the collection.

The yarn is 100% acrylic and is equivalent to double knit in weight.

There most certainly will! We'll be including patterns later in the series.

Yes! We will be including several children's item projects (including clothing) in the series.

All of the techniques and instructions work whether you hold the hook in your left or your right hand. As the techniques and instructions are written for holding the hook in your right hand, you would have to substitute reading 'right' for 'left' and vice versa throughout. For visual guidance you can hold any illustration up to a mirror to see the left-handed technique.
